Spokane, WA (PRWEB) November 9, 2008

Mountain Gear, a leader in the climbing gear and clothing industry, is proud to partner with Backpacker Magazine’s Big City Mountaineers’ “Summit for Someone” program. These professionally guided trips take beginner, intermediate and advanced climbers to America’s most renowned peaks – from the Denali range to Mt. Whitney to women-only climbing and mountaineering trips.

Fundraising efforts by each climber allow inner-city youth and teenagers to experience the wonder of the wilderness for themselves. The Big City Mountaineers program focuses on reaching inner-city kids who would otherwise not have had these opportunities to experience the outdoors.

The 2009 registration is now open for professionally guided trips to these locations: Denali National Park, Buck Mountain, Gannett Peak, Grand Teton, Longs Peak Keyhole, Longs Peak Kieners, Middle Teton, Mt Hood, Mt Langley, Mt Moran, Mt Olympus, Mt Rainier, Mt Shasta, Mt Shuksan, Mt Sneffels, Mt Whitney and North Palisades Peak.
